Eric Hayashi, MBA
President & CEO
Eric’s experience includes more than fifteen years in the clinical trials industry including four clinical outsourcing services start-up companies. A frequent industry speaker, Eric is also an adjunct professor at the University of Washington's clinical trials program. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Whitman College. Prior to LabConnect, he was Vice President, Corporate Development for Radiant Research, an Inc. 500 magazine fastest growing privately held company that provides Phase I-IV study conduct and drug development services to the biopharmaceutical industry. At Radiant he continuously served on the company's three-person executive team and was responsible for sales, marketing and acquisition activities. He was instrumental in Radiant’s growth to 1,000 employees and $75M in revenue in less than six years. Prior to Radiant, Eric served as Vice President, Site Management and Director of North American Operations at MDS Harris (now MDS Pharma Services), as President & CEO of a regional site management organization, and as a Senior Consultant with Accenture. Eric and his family reside in Seattle, WA.
Jeff Mayhew
Chief Development Officer
As Chief Development Officer, Jeff is primarily responsible for the oversight of LabConnect’s new business and network development activities. One of LabConnect’s founding partners in 2002; Jeff has over twenty years of operations and business development experience within the health care industry. In particular, Jeff brings LabConnect over fourteen years of international business experience. Prior to starting LabConnect, as Founder and Director of Nexus Health Management International he was involved in the development of inpatient behavioral health services in Southeast Asia. Prior to Nexus Health Management, he served as Vice President of Strategic Alliance Development for Charter Behavioral Health Systems and Vice President of Operations/Development at Option Care, Inc.
Richard Ray, CPA/ABV, MACC
Chief Financial Officer
Dick has more than 18 years of CFO experience for clinical laboratory and manufacturing entities. He is a CPA with an accreditation in business valuation, has a Masters of Accountancy from University of Tennessee, and a BS in Economics from East Tennessee State University. Prior to LabConnect, as CFO of a $25M regional laboratory, where his work included overseeing automation, logistics and other six sigma initiatives. He also served as CFO of General Shale, where he integrated five acquisitions totaling $143M and his professional background includes eight years as an Audit Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Ed Bush, MBA, MT(ASCP)
Director of Clinical Trial Operations
Ed has more than 30 years experience in clinical laboratory science with a particular expertise in managing multi-site operations, automation, process re-engineering and laboratory accreditation. He holds a MBA from Bristol University, a BA in Medical Technology from Maryville College, and is a registered medical technologist—MT(ASCP)—of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Prior to LabConnect, Ed was EVP of MEDex Laboratories where he was responsible for a multi-facility regional clinical laboratory encompassing four inpatient facilities and significant outreach and reference laboratory business.
Eudoro van der Biest, MS
Director of Information Services
Eudoro has more than 25 years of IT experience including extensive experience in manufacturing, health systems and laboratory information management systems. He has a B.S. and Masters in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University. While at Wellmont Health System, Eudoro was the database administrator for the 1,000 bed health system and managed more than 20 Oracle databases and over 250 SQL Server databases. He has led multiple projects and has expertise in the design and implementation of software systems. Eudoro has worked as an IT consultant for various industries including education, wildlife management systems (TWRA), manufacturing, retail, distribution, e-commerce, textiles, healthcare and others. He is currently participating in the CDASH project (a CDISC standard) and CareSpark, an innovative effort to improve health through the collaborative use of health information.
